About
The Niagara Community Center is a 25,200 square foot multi-purpose athletic facility. Its mission is to improve the lives of youth in Niagara Falls and nearby communities. It provides a safe, enriching space for after-school sports. The facility needed to accommodate cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, and tennis. Tennis requires a higher building for serving.
Opened in 2016, construction required a design-build effort. It involved Tedesco Construction Services, the architect, the general contractor, and the sports facility’s reps. The structure incorporates a rigid frame clear span with no interior columns for improved spectator viewing. GymGuard Insulation was also used to add durability to a high-use facility. The designers also planned the building for a future running track that would be suspended from the ceiling.
